We just recently moved, 2 months ago, and as we were clearing boxes out of a room one Saturday my husband stated that I needed to start hanging up pictures. So I threw this together. Literally just randomly put pictures around the quote with mismatched frames and all. There's nothing wrong about mismatching. It's kinda nice and refreshing to not have all the frames match. So here you are, even with a letter P! Just like the rest of them you see all over the internet. :)

French Inspired! Still...

Have I posted about this blog before? I think I have. But I'm going to do it again since its one of my favs and they have good photos. My goto blog for party ideas is... Hostess with the Mostess. I love Europe and need to see more of it!!! And one of the places I would like to go see in Europe is France. Recently I've had this fascination with France. I want to learn the language, want to visit, ...maybe live there. ;) And I've noticed, or maybe its just me, a lot of Eiffel towers around in designs or used in home decorating. So here is some inspiration for design. I love the black lace all around.

Felting

Emily Falconbridg e taught our felting class at Spark last year. I absolutely loved, loved, loved this class. Had so much fun. Its easy to do, just takes time. All you need is the Felting Wool, soapy water (we used dish soap), bubble wrap, and a towel (cause you'll get wet). Emily has how-to's on her blog.

I made this scarf at spark and then with my leftovers made the bracelet and earrings at home.

Here is a new website that I love. A friend invited me to it and I am so glad she did! I am just getting started, so I don't have much trend boards. But am working on it a little at a time. I could spend all day doing this. As a designer this website is a great new tool. I use it to save color palates and designs in general. Instead of having a billion picts to go through on my computer, now I have a place to put them all online, share with my friends the things and trends I see, and visa versa.

One day while I was unloading photos off my camera I found these surprise picts. So cute to see the world through my daughters eyes. Goes to show that anyone can take good photos. And that everyone has their own style of taking photos. There are a lot of blurry ones, but I like to see them in their series, and the blurry ones are just as cute. One day when we get all unpacked (moving to Cali soon) I will find one of our old digital cameras and give it to her. Every now and then I will give her the camera to see what she comes up with. The picts are just so fun to see.

My New Project

Here is a preview of a new project I've just started. It turns out I chose too many patterns. I was like a kid in a candy store - wanted a little bit of everything. Sooooo...this will probably turn into 3 projects. The one I started with is a quilt. It will be my 1st ever, but I'm loving the fabrics and think it will turn out great. The question is, what size should I make it? I want to make it for my new little baby, and if I do, I don't want it to be just baby size. I want her to use it down the road. BUT, I've been very tempted to see if it will sell on Etsy. I am just asking myself, do I want to keep quilting. That is the real question.

Ahhhhh......My Most Favorite Thing

Here are some pics of me in my horseback riding days. I say that since I haven't ridden in years, cause its a very expensive habit. Please tell the hubby that he needs to make the money to support my habit. I have always loved horses. Yes it's probably is a girl thing. If there is a horse around, I'm the one usually staring at it. I think its in my blood.

The horse I am riding is Bachelor. He was my favorite (not because of the name) but because you would guide him to any fence and he would almost always go over it. I hated the horses who would put the brakes on you in front of the fence. He did get really mad at me one time and instead of braking after a jump he just took off with me on his back. I pulled the reins and he went faster. I was a little confused at 1st and my instructor just said ride it out. I guess it was just a bad day for him. So off we went galloping full speed around the arena till he cooled off. Needless to say, I kinda had fun going so fast.

I had another favorite horse to ride at the school I went to, her name was Gypsy. She was such a cute little grey horse. So soft and had a mane that stuck straight up like a zebra. Maybe she was part zebra since she was so short. But she was soooo fun to ride, she was like a little sports car. She's the only horse that could zip around a corner really fast. And she also would usually jump over a fence. Too bad I don't have pics of her.

I've ridden Western and English style. I was scared to start riding on an English saddle, the ones without a horn to hold on to for dear life. But my mom started me riding English when I turned 16 and I thought I needed to be brave. Well, it was a good thing because I loved jumping. Its such a thrill. And yes, even though I rode everyday and jumped almost as much, the higher the jump the more intimidating. You have to have a lot of faith in your horse.

Leave it to me talking about horses to make this my longest post I've ever posted. :) I will try to be better.

Canvas Collage

I finally finished one of my Spark projects. Yay! You just use a blank canvas, scrapbook paper, embellishments, a paper doily, buttons, glitter, and a ton of Mod Podge. I took a side photo of my daughter and made a silhouette of her. They were using random images at Spark for theirs but I wanted to make mine a little more meaningful with the silhouette.

Turning 5!

We celebrated at our local park and I set up a candy buffet for my daughters Birthday Party! It was fun to do. I used mason jars and bought the other jars at a local thrift store. The most expensive part is buying the candy. I decorated the jars with ribbon and cutouts from scrapbook paper. Not all the jars were filled with candy. One of them I filled with colorful beaded necklaces the girls could choose from and take home also. I think these candy buffets are great since you can load up on candy on these special occasions. It's kinda like having a Willey Wanka dream. Ahhhhh....what is it with Willy Wanka or is it just me?

Wow! It is fun to see a blog you follow use your own paper designs. Creatively Savvy created this scrapbook page and it turned out great. So cute! She has closer up photos on her blog.

There is also a video on YouTube that shows all the pages in the stack. The Lady Couture Stack is the 2nd to last stack I designed when I was working at DCWV. A friend of mine at work was saying that out of our 18 stacks this stack is #1 or #2 for top selling at Micheals. Woohoooo!!!

April Meeker's inspiration for her fireplace mantel came from Edgar Allen Poes, The Raven. I am in love with her setup and from her inspiration gives me inspiration. Actually, I love everything she does. When she talks about secretly staring at people, but at the same time trying not to be creepy about it, she is one of those who I secretly stare at.

Visit to the City of Rocks

Thought I'd post a little something, since it has been quit a while. Last weekend we took a little 1-day trip up to Almo, ID for a funeral in the family. If there is anything to see in Idaho, besides Coeur d'Alene, it's the City of Rocks. It's kinda like a bigger version of Goblin Valley. Anyways, love this photo above, reminds me of my Great Grandpa. It's like a monument to my family that came from here. They all had big noses. :)

This little store used to be in our family until recently. Always love candy displayed this way. Mmmmm, enjoy!

These are digital kits only, found on 300dpi.com. Sometimes we come up with our own ideas for designs and sometimes we are told what to come up with. This one is where I was told to do something "collage and grandma" like. I liked the "grandma" suggestion. It makes me laugh inside every time I think of it. :)

Here is my website I designed for the new digital scrapbook dept. at DCWV. I came up with the name and made the logo. Of course its not what I had originally dreamed up because some things were designed by other designers and the web developer added his stuff too, but it's close. Forgive the kinks, we are still working them out. It just came live last week.

Here is my new stack. I'm so proud of it! I saw a mini-trend of French stuff and Eiffel towers, so here is scrapbook paper for it. ;) I wanted to name it Paris something, but the higher ups didn't want to "limit" the potential of sales, so it became Belle Cafe. A name, even though I came up with it, I have the hardest time remembering. Here is a video about our new stacks at Micheals by DCWV. Its kinda funny/corny, but you get to see some of the pages in it.

I made this! I'm so proud of it. Saved it to share with my little family. The Sweet Tooth Fairy owner showed us how to make these at Spark. I'm gonna have the best looking cupcakes on the block! By the way I work close to their cute little bakery in Provo and I highly suggest going there and trying the cupcake bites. They are yummy.

Melissa Blackburn is the maker and taught a class on how to make gorgeous flowers (the ones next to the dress). When I finish mine, I just might post it. ;)

I took this picture of Tai in Jeffra's class at Spark. Tai is another very talented designer I work with. Couldn't wait to use my new toy, a lense that Jefra gave us. I was just so glad to be able to have a photography class. I've always wanted to take one. By the way, I used my crappy camera to take all these photos. I didn't want to bang up my nice camera, so I took the one that takes good blurry photos. But case in point from the photography class, its not the camera that takes the pictures, its the person and you don't really need all the fancy nice cameras to get good pictures.

The Haunting Stack

Another stack that I'm soooo excited about is our new Halloween Stack. I probably like it so much cause my favourite holiday is Halloween. This one was a group effort, but I absolutely love it and want it myself. I designed a couple of pages in this stack and I was the one who did all the filters (the grunge look). I love the foil on it. Makes it so much spookier!

This is my Mainstreet Stack. If you've ever wondered what do I do? This is what I do. You can find it at Joanns Stores. I have another stack that is completely different than this, but thats all I can tell you about it because it isn't in stores yet. This other stack will be in Micheals stores soon. But I'm just as excited about it as this one. Hoping people will enjoy them. At my work, DCWV, we usually work in groups on stacks. But these two new ones are solely and completely designed by me.

The Green Stack

One of our newer stacks out is the Green Stack. What I found so funny about this page is that originally the designer had put "lil stinker" on the page and was told to remove it. Now I've seen so many different scrapbooker versions that have the same line. The designer is so good at drawing cute little characters and is a really good friend.
